What song to sing for a Multicultural Assembly at school?

I want to sing at my school's multicultural assembly. I want to sing
"My Hero" by The Foo Fighters as a tribute to veterans and soldiers.
If I don't do that I want to sing something from the British Invasion.
Though, I'm still keeping my options open. I want a few more
suggestions for other songs I could sing. Preferably ones that are in
English. I'm also thinking to sing an Irish Song since my cultural
background is Irish, but I really don't know where to start.
