songs from the artist you choose.
I'll start it off.
Pete Rock

"#1 Soul Brother": He often fits the beat around his (and others)
lyrics in many songs, but particularly in this one, which makes him
more entertaining in this song. Another thing I think was clever was
his scratch chorus which uses Rakim vocals. Rakim's vocal sample is a
line which ends with "the one you got your idea from" which rhymes
with the word one, but that part isn't included in the scratch chorus.

"Verbal Murder": The song begins with scratching Big Pun's voice which
foreshadows Pun being on the track. The beat sounds really like an
abstract sample, so for Pete Rock to make it sound as dope as it does,
just makes me admire his creative sample choose more. At the end of
the song it seems to over, then he brings the beat back for some
shout-outs which I also felt was clever.

"T.R.O.Y.": I chose this one for obvious reasons, but I'll say some
not so obvious reasons. Pete Rock usually has small snippets of beats
in between songs which makes his albums more cohesive and interesting,
as shown in the beginning of this one. The best part of this beat is
how the horns go in and out of it. His unique piecing together of
samples is exhibited as well which makes him revered by many other
producers.
